INTENTIONALLY BLANK is a human-forward, queer-owned lifestyle brand creating pieces to fill the blanks in your personal style. We have a very specific love affair with shoes. Our inspiration is driven by the idea that shoes are the ultimate accessory and expression of individual style.
OUR FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Ty McBride started INTENTIONALLY BLANK in 2014 after getting fired from his longtime dream job as Creative Director at the iconic and now defunct, Solestruck.com. His prolific career in the shoe industry began at Jeffrey Campbell and spans over 25 years. If you were buying trendy shoes in the 2000s and early 2010s, you are likely familiar with and have been influenced by Ty’s work prior to founding INTENTIONALLY BLANK. Aside from being the creative genius and voice behind INTENTIONALLY BLANK, Ty is a bi-coastal, queer Leo who calls Hudson, NY home. He falls in love often with people, places and ideas. His hobbies include hosting parties, skin creams, cheese plates and long drives to rural destinations.


OUR FACTORIES
We proudly work with progressive, like-minded factories in China, Spain and Brazil. With relationships spanning decades in some cases, we visit our factory partners regularly to develop new product and get inspired by the manufacturing techniques and cultural experiences of each locale.

Our philosophy is to design items that evolve and transcend seasons and trends. They are for you to keep wearing, to keep styling and to create memories in. Without you, it would just be a shoe.




ONE STEP AT A TIME
We’re not into greenwashing. We recognize the impact our industry has on the planet. Our intention is transparency and evolution through continually exploring how to reduce our waste and use more sustainable materials. Currently, all of our packaging is created from recycled and recyclable material. We’re also developing new products and innovative ways to reuse our scrap and overage materials.
